Halloween (Blood and Guts) Wedding

The Blood and Guts Halloween Party is a party more for adults. A couple can't expect all of their guests to dress up, it just won't happen especially but not specifically with the older guests. The couple can suggest that their guests dress up as their favourite murderer, and couples can dress up as the killer and victim combo.

The Flowers:
Any kind of red flowers would work perfectly for this themed wedding. Flowers can come in different shades of red from bright to almost black so picking one shade for the whole wedding would be ideal.

The Bride and Groom:
Like the picture above of the bride and groom, the couple can choose to dress up in regular wedding attire and just add gruesome details. Above the bride had blood all over her dress and scorpions all over, naturally a bride wouldn't want to spend too much money on a dress if she plans on doing that, as for the groom it is more his face that has the special effects. Either way both are great options, another option is to go the corpse bride theme.

The Invitations:
A great no fuss option for this wedding would be a simple traditional invitation with blood covering it. Like the one below.

Another great option however is the Severed Finger Invitation by Martha Stewart. It is literally a finger in a box sent to the guests with the invitation printed on the lid. Martha Stewart's website gives step by step instructions on how to make a mold of a finger and it would be adorable for the couple to do their ring fingers and add a cheap ring to each finger (or set of fingers) they send out.

The Rings:
A nice option for rings would be these Black Titanium Rings, they are black with a band(s) of bright red through them. They are both unisex so the bride and groom can have the exact same ring or choose to get matching yet different rings.

Another great option is the heartbeat rings. These rings have the other person's heartbeat laser printed into the ring itself so that their spouse can carry their heart with them.

The Reception:
A nice idea one bride had for her wedding was to make a guest box where guests could sign cards with their best wishes and than put it into a skull head. Hers was more cartoonish but it is a great idea. A couple doesn't even need a box just a normal skull head there with its mouth slightly open would be great for a card box and of course with little cards it would be great as a guest book as well.

If the couple chooses to have a sit down dinner, a seating chart is needed and table numbers. A great idea for table numbers is adding a little horror touch to them. The picture below is from ShannaMicheleDesigns on Esty.com. The scary movie characters would go great with these theme and they turn out very well. And why not let a severed hand hold them.

A great idea for entertainment even during the night would be to higher a local drama club or a high school drama club even (or more professional actors depending on availability and budget) to put on a horror show at your wedding. Having victims and killers randomly act out scene during the night using props as they do. What greater way to say I love you than watching one actor ''murder'' another.

The Food:
Gruesome and gore are always a fun thing to play around with, blood and guts are interest and scary, but when it comes to food not everyone finds it appetizing. For this type of wedding, having a meal would be fine and having gruesome items on the menu like Blood Pudding, Blood Sausage, Liver, Gibbets, Tongue, and Head Cheese would match perfectly for the theme, but not every guest will want to eat or even see such things. Having a buffet would be a great option and having the more adventurous foods in one buffet and having a more normal buffet for the less adventurous people would probably be a good idea. But there can be other options too like normal food that just looks gruesome, like the marinated mozzarella eyeballs below.

The Cake:
This cake is the perfect cake for a Blood and Guts wedding, the black parts can be turned to red so it looks like blood is dripping down the cake. In this picture the cake topper that is cut off is the characters from The Corpse's Bride.

A great cake option for this wedding would be a Chocolate Cherry Cake. It is like a normal chocolate cake but randomly it has halved bright red cherries in it that stick out and look blood and gruesome in some cases. The same effect would be causes with a Vanilla Angel Food Cake, the two would be a great plan for variety in case not every guest likes chocolate.

Centerpieces:
Great centerpiece and decoration ideas are replica Specimen Jars with human body parts in them and potions or potion ingredients. Some specimen jars are available premade online or the couple can always try to make their own, its simple to find jars and fake body parts. Martha Stewart also has a step by step guide on her website of how to make specimen jar candles as well.

Thank You Cards:
Everyone appreciates Thank You cards, they don't have to be theme related they can be pictures of the wedding, pictures of the honeymoon anything really. In this case a nice bloody Thank You would be prefect.
