When thinking of Spring, the colours that come to mind usually match those of Easter. Purples, light blues, pinks, yellows. That's a great colour theme to use for the invitations to a Springtime Wedding. For any reception the main items needed are a Guest book, and a Card box, however depending on the bride and groom and what they want there may be other things needed to make their reception special. Some couples choose to have different forms of entertainment like dancers during dinner or performers throughout the night. There can also be special features to a wedding like a fondue fountain or candy bar, things like that.
The Food:
A nice way to start a spring meal would be with a Lemon-Basil Shrimp Salad, it is light and won't make the pasta seem too heavy or too much as a main course.
A nice refreshing main course would be a Springtime Pasta. It's simple to make and it doesn't take a long time so any catering company should be more than happy to make it for any wedding. Spring is a hard time to make food for because some vegetables aren't in season and it's very easy to make a meal heavy without the freshness factor. This pasta is also a great option because it can be keep the same and served as a vegetarian dish or chicken can be added and it would work just as well.
A nice way to finish this meal would be to serve a Lemon Tartlet with Meringue Caps. It is refreshing, and a great way to clean the pallet from the meal.
The Cake:
A perfect option for a springtime cake would be a Chiffon Cake with Strawberries and Cream. It is a great way to celebrate the season and uses fresh spring fruit and other fresh flavors to highlight the season. This Chiffon Cake is similar in texture to an angel food cake but richer and much airier. With the theme being Spring and the rainy weather playing a part in that theme, a nice wedding cake topper would be a couple kissing under an umbrella.
